Normal Check-in will take place at Columbia University’s Hartley Hall in the lounge which is located at 1124 Amsterdam Ave; the entrance is located inside the Campus of Columbia University so you will need to enter through the 116th and Amsterdam gate.
However, if you are arriving after 9PM, you must contact the after-hours number: 646-599-3529 and the Columbia Housing staff will be able to assist you in checking in.

On check-in day, you will receive a Guest Pass key-card for your room. It will also give you access to your building and room through your Guest Pass. Please carry it on you at all times as the doors automatically lock behind you.
The Conference Housing Desk, located in the lobby of Hartley Hall, is staffed from 8 am to 9pm to assist students and guests with a variety of different issues. Visit the Desk to check in or out, if you lose or damage your key, if you have an issue with your room, or anything else related to housing.

A. MTA (NYC train or bus service–cheapest option): $5 AirTrain shuttle fare plus $2.75 fare (must purchase a Metrocard at terminals for both bus or train). Airtrain > E train > 1 train uptown to Columbia University
B. SuperShuttle Service (~$30): Shared bus service. It is better to reserve before you arrive.
C. Yellow Cab: For trips to and from Manhattan and JFK International Airport, the flat fare is $52.00 plus any tolls using Rate Code 2 on the meter.
2. Via LaGuardia
A. MTA- You can take the M60 bus right at the airport and it lets you off at Columbia’s main campus doors (116th and Broadway). You must buy a MetroCard inside airport for $2.75.
B. Shuttle Service (~$25): Shared bus service. It is better to reserve before you arrive.
C. Yellow Cab: There is no flat rate but most taxis will be no more than $50, including tolls and tip.
